PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain image communication among three points in a communication network where only one communication channel is available by utilizing a function of interruption communication like a catchphone service. SOLUTION: The system is made up of an exchange 10 having an interruption call reception and transmission function and a plurality of video telephone sets connecting to a communication network such as a video telephone set 20a for a talker A, a video telephone set 20b for a talker B, and a video telephone set 20c for a talker C. Each video telephone set 20 is provided with an interruption request indicator 22 informing the presence of an interruption request to the user of the video telephone set and a talker changeover button 23 selecting talkers when the interruption request is received. Through the use of the interruption call reception transmission function, like the catchphone service by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation, when the talker A is busy with the talker B, an interruption request by other talker C is received, the speech between the talkers A and C is stopped and the speech with the talker B is made again.
