A multishare plow in which the generally vertical earth-cutting edge of the plow share and mold board is tilted away from the vertical to form an obtuse angle with the horizontal cutting edge of the plow share and in which the counterslade, if any, is of small area with the result that the staggered formation of plow shares has a relatively small degree of longitudinal staggering.

A container having two chambers defined by a partition member, each chamber holding a particular material, and a plunger to move the partition to a position wherein the separator permits the fluid from one chamber to flow to the other chamber and be mixed therein. Means are provided to prevent the partition member from falling into the chamber where the mixing takes place while still permitting the material to flow from one chamber to the other.

An air conditioning system comprising a compressor, condenser, and evaporator includes a refrigerant bypass line for passing a portion of the heat laden high-pressure refrigerant from the compressor output into the lower heat level reduced pressure refrigerant fed to the evaporator or the suction line of the compressor. A valve in the bypass line monitors the flow of the bypassed refrigerant as a function of room temperature to thereby continuously modulate the thermal capacity of the system in …

Apparatus and method for providing optimum conditions for the growth and maturation of crustaceans during the post-larval period, which includes at least one tank having strand type habitats therein for the crustacea. A series of interconnected tanks is provided, with a tank subsequent to the one having the strand habitats including compartments for the crustacea.

A device is described in which amplified spontaneous emission from a high-gain laser medium illuminates an object through an optical system that also serves to collect the reflected or scattered light from the object and return it through the laser medium to form a highly amplified image. By modification of the optical system and control of the gain factor, the invention can be adapted for various uses including projection or etching of the amplified image on a substrate.

A method is disclosed for selecting the proper filament length in an incandescent lamp designed for operation from a source of alternating current of a given frequency, the lamp having a magnet producing a magnetic field which reacts with the current through the filament to cause the filament to oscillate. The length of the filament is selected in accordance with the frequency of the operating current to enhance the probability of the filament oscillating.

A device for determining and simultaneously displaying the depth, range and bearing to points on the underlying terrain from a boat. A signal is transmitted at a known negative deflection angle and a known bearing angle and the time for the signal to reflect from an object on the underlying terrain is measured. At the proper bearing position the obtained distance is displayed directly on a display screen having calibrated scales for converting the vector distance information into its component p…

Handle replacement apparatus which is particularly adapted for plumbing fixtures is described. The apparatus consists of a replacement handle and a separate insert. The insert fits onto a valve stem and is locked in place at three points. The handle fits onto the insert.

A liquid-state switching device utilizes movement of a column of liquid, resulting from a change in surface tension of the liquid caused by electrocapillary action, to operate various switch means. The electrocapillary effect is induced across a single interface sets of single of mercury and an electrolyte or electrolytes. Filter partitions are installed to maintain the liquids in a proper relationship throughout variations in position of the switching device. Means are provided to assist the re…

A tape dispenser is described which is easily opened for access to the tape and also readily and securely closed. The dispenser comprises a body with a flat bottom surface, a peripheral side wall and a center orifice with an annular wall projection. The tape seats around the projection. The cover comprises a flat plate having a closed projection seating in said annular orifice. The cover snaps into a recess on the side wall having a plurality of spaced projections.
